Little Island Pond is a special place.
Whether we value the lake and its watershed for its beauty, wildlife, recreational value or tranquility... we call it home. Right now we have a unique opportunity to help protect and preserve it for our children and our children's children. During the last year the Little Island Pond Watershed Association was formed by neighbors and residents in response to the proposed construction of 17 homes on approximately 40 acres of land located between Dutton Road and South .Shore Drive. The proposal has been a great concern because of its potential impact on the groundwater, wildlife, vernal pools, the lake itself and the wetlands that drain directly into it. As the proceeding continued, the group realized that purchasing part, if not all of the land, was essential to protect this watershed area. So, please join us in a new endeavor, a partnership between neighbors concerned about Little Island Pond watershed and the Pelham Conservation Commission.
